For Immediate Release: September 6, 2023 Contact: Aimee Wetzel 508-728-8154 Cardinal Spellman High School Awarded Catholic Health Foundation (CHF) Grant to Fund Expansion of Student Mental Health Support Services Brockton, MA – Cardinal Spellman High School announced today that it received a $5,000 award from the Catholic Health Foundation of Greater Boston to support the growth of the Student Support Team to support all students’ social and emotional needs. The award for the Student Support Team will help fund staff expansion to include increased support in the area of Mental Health. This restructuring consists of a dedicated adjustment counselor and coordinator for the student support services team. CHF Executive Director Lynne Sullivan stated, “The Catholic Health Foundation is thrilled to be able to support such a wide range of organizations meeting critical health needs, particularly in the areas of child and youth wellness, mental health, and food insecurity.” CHF has been partnering with organizations to serve our communities since 2014 awarding more than $5 million during that time. “It’s a privilege for CHF to be able to support these incredible organizations,” said Board President Gavan Mooney. “They are the real heroes and what they do makes a difference.
